Alien: Romulus 2024
A genuinely tense legacy sequel that balances references to the previous films with fresh takes on the established ranchise norms. While some of the scenes feel like they are checking boxes for an Alien film, which can at times take away from it's own identity (The Force Awakens comes to mind), the new and unique elements and loving attention to detail combined with fresh reimagining of franchise classics make for the best film in the series since Aliens

Deadpool & Wolverine 2024
The third movie sacrifices a lot of the more original elements of the first two in exchange for opening a Floodgate Of MCU references. I had a lot of fun watching it as a spectacle, but as a complete package it's a little wonky.
