  put the arbitrary political nature of the church on full display brilliantly. unfortunately highlighting those stakes made it difficult for me to invest in them, and it was just hard to care. fun score

  A movie whose titular setting was utterly irrelevant to the story, which misunderstood and satirically disrespected the photojournalism it centered, and earned absolutely none of its wanton gore, flatly-played 'emotions', or nonsensical arcs. It had nothing to say, no justification, and no entertainment value. This was a movie that was only made for its trailer, which itself wasn't even great. Every scene took me out of the story and made me conscious of the fact that I was sitting in a theater watching a money grab on the premise of a near-future controversy fantasy that failed to even look itself in the eye.
