Dune: Part Two 2024
Whenever I watch a movie, I always imagine what goes on off the screen. I imagine the DP behind the camera, the director observing everything going on, as well as rest of the crew on set. But not for this. Dune Part Two is other-worldly, the screen is a window to something more than a movie. It’s so spectacularly immersive on so many levels it’s hard for me to explain. I guess one way to put it is like this: watching the non-IMAX cropped version of this in a standard movie theater still feels like IMAX.

After writing my rant review and doing some research into this movie’s production, I feel that I have more to say about this. I wholeheartedly believe that this could’ve been a masterpiece. Unfortunately, when you build the foundation of your film on a screenplay written by David Benioff (the man who wrote X-Men Origins: Wolverine), the potential in quality of your movie is severely diminished. Troy had a lot going for it with Wolfgang Petersen as the director, great production…
