    Holy shit.
    Seriously and for hours.

    I didn't understand and I don't want to.
It's not that kind of film.

For the committed, good-humored, and preferably properly stoned.

As is almost always the case with a Bong Joon-ho film, this was an instance of well-made cinema. In an era when craftsmanship is falling away so disinterested consumption might supplant all levels of production from inception to reception (see harrowing interviews with Netflix show and film makers for a recent example of the whimper-not-a-bang nightmare that increasingly ((no longer)) is creative work), Bong delivers immaculate film.

I think this would be a hard film not to love. Its grainy quality and uncertain pacing, its lack of plot and fantastical elements intertwine with the sonic and spatial intimacies that fill the distances between characters to one another and their decisions to themselves and the plot. It feels as though it should be a comedy, or drama, a light-hearted film, or a bleak one, but it's not quite any of those. And in choosing to be none of these, it succeeds in being entirely its own object.

Terrible, even for a terrible movie.
The sound editing and film editing were solid, but the script is fucking garbage, the lead actor and actress are wooden, Kevin Spacy wasted, John Hamm isn't handsome or charming enough to save it (he makes a valiant effort) but he does kill a bunch of cops, and Jamie Foxx is never good because of his lack of talent.
Save yourself the time and just get the sound track.
