This was absolutely mental from start to finish. The whole thing was super surrealist, and almost seemed like a dream the whole way through. The style of the film actually makes way more sense since subsequently understanding it was based on Homer’s Odyssey (not that I know the story!) but the crazy coincidence and plethora of weird characters makes way more sense in this knowledge.
The characters were way too mad for me though, at points it kind of felt…
To be honest I thought this was pretty average and kind of reminded me of one of those Netflix originals that tries to be a bit arty.
Initially I quite liked the idea of the ‘Cluedo’ vibes which the film gave off, a big ‘whodunnit’ in a creepy mansion house, and a mysterious consulting detective.
From there I just thought the film went downhill, from the fairly cheesy angle of the protagonist that couldn’t lie, to Daniel Craig’s extremely dodgy…
Naughty film this one, had seen before but not for years so didn’t even really remember it.
The film is pretty predictable, I think marvel have got a bit better at concealing the bad guy recently than they used to be - in this film it’s pretty bait so this takes away a bit.
But this is still a class film, really cool origin story to the iconic Iron Man character, as well as a great introduction to Stark’s tech…
Even though this was a decent watch I was a little bit disappointed by this film.
It was enjoyable the whole way through the film and there were some funny bits - the best of which was someone getting sack tapped on a school trip. The Spider-Man character is also super compelling and I really like Tom Holland’s version a lot, and some of the action scenes were really creative.
But overall the film was just too predictable and too…
