    Living in a Shadow…

Rumble Fish was Coppola’s follow-up to his other 1983 S.E Hinton adaptation and the more commercially successful one, The Outsiders. Rumble Fish was more of a passion project for Coppola. Dark, mysterious, and ambiguous, Eastwood created one of the most surreal and disturbing westerns I’ve ever seen. The shot composition matches the stark tone of the film perfectly along with the off putting score. Throughout the film we not only learn about how corrupt our “protagonist” is but the dark truth that this whole town is corrupt. Not only one of the best westerns I’ve seen but one of the best films of all time.
