watching in preparation to see the tim burton exhibition at the design museum!

charming and quirky, fascinating how it navigates a darker tone with the inherent camp of a man dressing up as a bat. (and how much more serious films are now…)

burton’s aesthetic really works for gotham,
his strange steampunk-esque flourishes and gothic style helps to build a brooding but fantastical world in which it’s believable that these wild things could happen. this atmosphere is complimented by the lush production design (including great miniatures!)

jack nicholson’s maniacal joker was very fun to watch!

  • Thor: Love and Thunder

    Thor: Love and Thunder

wow. absolute flop. watching this feels like scrolling through tiktok (derogatory)

continually commits the cardinal sin of telling instead of showing which makes for a super frustrating experience

a shame, because bale’s incredible acting and his villain gorr’s character design is utterly wasted…

    messy and forgettable
