Frozen (2011), in classic Disney fashion, required an act of true love and what I had liked most about the film was that it was the love between two sisters that saved the day and not some cliché Prince Charming. Frozen II similarly shows the conquering powers of compassion, friendship, and love between family, friends, strangers, and even enemies. I don’t think Frozen II in any way “ruined the original” and as a sequel or just as a movie itself…

The film pays homage to the golden age of cinema and plays on the theatrical glory while being shadowed by one of the darkest moments of the time. This film has a western subplot in which DiCaprio and Pitt’s character play the American hero in their own rite and follows their own realities of being an aging film star. I’ve always liked this movie. It’s the kind of film you can put on and watch whenever. It’s a story we’re all well accustomed to, two people from opposite sides of the track meet and form a nonromantanic relationship only to fall hard for each other by the film’s end. Julia Roberts looks phenomenal during the entire transition from sexy working girl to high class broad. Richard Gere has never been more likeable and the two put on a wonderful performance that for a moment feels like love exists everywhere and there really is someone for everyone.
