    Outrageous and amusing, but somehow never genuinely funny. Feels like the film is always operating on a completely different frequency that I cannot seem to access. If it wasn't for Kevin Kline being so highly watchable I'd probably shave off half a star.

    Definitely super unsettling, especially in the first half or so of the film; there is a home invasion sequence in particular where I was watching through parted fingers. As the mystery starts to unravel, however, I found myself less interested in some of the more supernatural aspects of the story and Lee Harker (Maika Monroe) piecing together the fragments of her forgotten past. There are excellent performances (you can always count on Nic Cage to deliver the goods, even under so many layers of makeup) but I would recommend going into Longlegs with tempered expectations.
