Imagine if someone made a film solely about how terrible cancer was. Nothing informative, no advice with how to help those who suffer from it, just scene after brutal scene demonstrating the onset of a severe illness and the lack of care from everyone surrounding it.
That’s melancholia, but about depression.
There are films that are sad all the way through that make us think, are well shot, well acted. This isn’t one of them.
2 hours 16 of pure unadulterated misery that will not improve the course of your life. Go watch almost any other film.Translated from by -
