  Not nearly as bad as I thought. Is the plot ridiculous? Yes. Is the score good? No. Is the cinematography anything to write home about? Also no. But goddamn are these two just so hot and horny for each other, and that counts for something nowadays. Star-power can still do the heavy lifting.

  My faith is restored in movie club. If I have to sit through 15 moms paralyzing their abducted children and 20 Mark Whalbergs not even attempting anything other than a Boston accent while starring in an American true story propaganda flick just to watch one city of god, it might be worth it. City of God might be perfect, it rightfully earns its spot on the movies that made me shed a tear list.
