Remarkable balance of humor and heroics. Kurosawa has such beautifully composed shots. Toshiro Mifune has quickly become one of my favorite actors. Charisma levels are off the damn charts.

The Holdovers 2023
I can’t remember the last time a movie filled me with such joy. For a movie shrouded in cold, biting snow, there’s an undeniable warmth to this entire movie that looks like it’s straight out of the 70s reminiscent of something by Hal Ashby. Just like Giamatti’s character, I never wanted to leave Barton Academy. This is a new favorite of mine. It’ll start appearing in my future Christmas lineups.
This movie is definitely not penis cancer in movie form.
