saw w/ live band + justin hurwitz conducting; watching the drumming live was unbelievable.

happy oscars day! i haven't updated my letterboxd in half a century but i saw nickel boys back in january and truly cannot put into words how this movie made me feel. it is unlike anything i've ever seen. literally seeing through elwood's eyes was incredible but also exhausting (i don't know how else to phrase it but that's not an insult). i'm honestly shocked this hasn't been the talk of the awards season; ramell ross and jomo fray deserve it all.

amazing. mikey madison is a star. the entire supporting cast is also great, the actors who played toros and igor especially. just incredibly beautiful and tragic (i think the only 2024 release that has made me cry so far??).
