Lots of originality in She Came to Me. The screenplay was original and the dialogue was succinct in a way that fit nicely with the clean photography. It was refreshing to see Peter Dinklage in a role where his height is not a topic. All of the acting was great, Anne Hathaway fabulous as always. I didn’t quite get why he decides that he actually loves his muse in the end, other than maybe he was just ready for a different kind of life. I’m also curious about the different aspect ratios that were used throughout the film and their significance.
This is a beautifully shot, beautifully acted, beautifully written movie about three sisters with totally absent parents who live in their family home taking care of each other. The photography and the nuanced dialogue I loved. Another movie whose script is airtight in a way that I would like to emulate. You could tell this family’s story a million different ways in a million different settings. If you have a story like that and decent actors, you are free to play with things like setting, pace, plot devices, photography and really have fun with them. Everything about this movie was so well executed.
