This movie is an aesthetic masterpiece, and maybe Bhansali's best work. Arguably one of the best soundtracks in all of Bollywood. The whole movie drips with sensuality.
This movie is also about how dangerous an unchecked brown boy is. In the first half of the movie, I accepted everybody's adoration of Devdas. As the second half progressed, I felt confused. Paro and Chandramukhi had character arcs and evolving personalities. Devdas remained the same entitled, spoiled, mama's boy that he started…
