Mississippi Masala 1991
Really good film, I can't really pick out things I dislike or felt confused. A good look into old school Mississippi.
I enjoyed how they portrayed the different realities of immigrant life. Jay, the accomplished lawyer who is living modestly but yearning for his homeland. Anil, who made it from the ground to build his motel business, and all the other relatives in tow.
Denzel and Sarita had great chemistry, their relationship and interactions didn't feel forced.

Karma is best served with Beethoven?
Kubrick accomplished the surreal/dystopian aspect of the movie. I liked the stage design, scenery and score as well
Nothing too deep, it just ain't for me. I get the themes of crimes/delinquency and how to go about reform, but it wasn't interesting to me.
There was way too much rape and overall licentiousness. Why did it seem like they even framed the murder as worse?

This movie was beautiful, the way it was shot, a lot of the scenes and stills, the music selection, everything.
Truthfully, I was expecting them to fall in love from the start, but I loved the twist as to why they did. The way the neighbours story unfolded as they realized the news (each at their own pace) and coming to grips with it was done masterfully, no outright reveal or ass pulls.
