The Girl with the Needle 2024
Shockingly disturbing. The best way I can describe this film is “ugly.” Disgust, deceit, and disaster decorate this young woman’s life til the point you think she’d offended some eldritch god in a past life. Just no get right for her.
The cinematography is excellent and the use of lighting create some monstrous depictions of some the characters. Ironically, none of the ones who are intentionally evil. Morality is called into question quite a bit and I wish I had watched this with a woman.
At first I wasn’t sure of the story attempting to be told and to be honest, I’m still not.

Firstly the acting is SO BAD from the lead red head that by the time of the end of it I was happy she was dead.
I’m very attracted to the gluttonous nature of the mirror. It’s need to gather all of the pain from the individual suffering to the realization of the person causing it is phenomenally entrapping.
Leaving on an unresolved note is perfect.
The girls just pressed play on “hereditary” which I’ve never seen so I gotta lock in on that but this was good!
