Amazing visuals and cool aesthetics. I really wanted to like it but couldn't connect emotionally to the characters at all. I also didn't like the way that the women were written. I'm willing to admit that the characters (especially the father/daughter relationship) just didn't hit right for me for a lot of personal reasons lol but I think... Leaving calling humanity "explorers" without reckoning with our fault with what has happened to Earth leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Acting as if it was inevitable that Earth has been "asking us to leave" instead of capitalism ravaging the Earth's resources just isn't true to me.

Moonlit Winter 2019
there's a lot of things that people could criticize the film for but i feel like it was made for me; hearing korean and japanese from women in the same movie made me so homesick. comforting, comforted, hopeful, hoping. not wanting to be ashamed anymore + writing letters to say i was dreaming about you. this movie never really looks at anything directly but it gives you that feeling that everything is going to be okay.
