Under the Skin 2013
As bizarre as this film is, it’s impossible not to be compelled by the images, the score, the charisma of Scarlett Johansson. And it’s especially refreshing to watch a sci-fy film which doesn’t borrow from anything you’ve seen before, but really dive into an impossible challenge: a reflection about humanity by a non human being. Some scenes are truly fascinating, some are stuff nightmares are made of.

The Zone of Interest 2023
A truly unsettling film. The works done on the sound landscapes and soundtrack are simply some of the best I ever heard. The performances by Sandra Hüller and Christian Friedel are also brillant, both incarnating at the same time the most disgusting and ordinary human aspects. A cinematographic essay on the Banality of Evil, which is also a horror film without any violence or gore on the screen. Haunting.
