Beautifully well written while also just being a gorgeous movie in its own right. It reminds me of the Syberia games and polar express with its steampunk elements. I loved how it explored film making in the time of war and it dissolved since everyone was in survival mode.

Recently saw this with a friend and can say that it has some decently written scenes! It’s a fun and bouncy movie with some nicely balanced emotional scenes that can tug at older fans hard strings for those who loved Maria’s and Shadows backstory. That was my personal favorite part of the movie. Seeing Shadow coming back 50 years to his whole world shattered without her. I just wish they made Gerald a bit more on the serious side considering…
