  I watched it for Dahyun, and the “three-quarters of a tofu” joke was a pleasant surprise. Though I found the original film’s femme fatale portrayal of the female lead a bit jarring, the adaptation made a conscious effort to localize the story for a South Korean setting. By introducing new scenes from the girl’s perspective, it significantly emphasized her feelings for the boy—something the Taiwanese version' director -the boy himself-seemingly avoided highlighting, perhaps for personal reasons. As a result, what was once a story of youthful, one-sided love has now transformed into a tale of mutual affection and missed chances.

  Forever angry, forever sensitive, forever on the verge of tears.

  Pain cannot be measured, and the distinction between what’s real and unreal seems just as elusive. A journey of mourning historical trauma intertwines with the process of personal emotional release, while a so-called nice gesture ends up causing discomfort.

  A person without a sense of belonging sits in the midst of a bustling airport—everyone has a destination, but where is the white liberal youth supposed to go? The title appears on the left side of the screen at the beginning, and by the end, it reappears on the right. It truly is a real pain.
