When Aaron Taylor-Johnson said he had a monster to hunt made me soyjack so hard because he plays kraven the hunter in the movie kraven the hunter. peak was referenced and this being a movie about a vampire must've also been a nod to morbius from the movie morbius. yet another reference to peak. i'm sure there's a reference to madame web and venom too. robert eggers seems to be a massive SPUMC fan and this is a love letter to that universe.
