The generic characters, inexpressive faces, overbearing soundtrack and awkward transitions from 2D to 3D make this film seem shamefully cheap. If you want to make a bad LOTR clone then do it, but create a new fantasy world for it. Tolkien would have hated this vapid trash.

After three less than mediocre movies, one wonders what the point was in sinking so much money and effort into something so ill-conceived. The scriptwriters are obviously struggling to find a plot that works.
