Raya and the Last Dragon 2021
There are a LOT of exposition dumps, and I really disliked the use of modern language when it didn’t fit the world they created—it completely took me out of the story. That said, the concept itself is great, with a rich Asian-inspired setting that had so much potential. I just wish they had leaned into it more, especially when it came to the dragons. Instead of being these majestic, mythical beings with real presence, they felt underwhelming—too goofy and underdeveloped…
