  I’ve read this book many times and never failed to cry. The same applies to the film adaption. Each scene was beautifully gut wrenching and I sat for about ten minutes after the movie was over to process. I’m tired of black authors, films, and their makers being glazed over and under appreciated. This was absolutely amazing and everything I could’ve hoped for. And it’s the last day of February— perfect timing.
