Although it initially promises a deep and ethically profound journey, it ends up being a clumsy and repetitive farce.
The female character, flat and completely lacking depth, is ultimately relegated to the background, while men take center stage doing foolish things. And don’t be fooled by the flashy final scene—because, of course, it ultimately leads her into a man’s arms for redemption.
I would have liked to understand this so-called “feminist” vision of this tragic love story.
