  Deeply, deeply romantic. Wardrobe, sound, props teams really went crazy. Opening scene went crazy. Cate Blanchett was mothering all over the screen. Only had two issues with it but they really took me out:

  1. Everyone had strong accents and with a dialogue heavy movie it did impact my ability to follow the plot (although maybe that's on me)
  2. There were some scenes where the lighting was weird and it made things almost fuzzy. 

  Those things being said, my immediate thought coming out of the theater is that I dream of a world where this is the standard we hold our movies to.

  A sci-fi epic blending over the top social commentary (without being wink wink about it), dry humor that actually made me laugh, a love and empathy for what humanity can be, the cutest of space creatures (need a plushy asap), insane production value, and of course different sauces. 

  Sauce is the true litmus test for any civilization.

  One thing about me, I'm going to eat up a horror comedy with overt social commentary every single time. Very very fun watch and I can see it growing on me over time.

  LOTS of thoughts on this one...
  1. Someone tell Gia Coppola she's not allowed to use handheld cameras anymore. She met her maximum quote for eternity about 30 minutes into this. 
  2. It was genuinely so refreshing to see someone older in Hollywood who's able to emote with her whole entire face. Pamela Anderson is spectacular. 
  3. Why was Dave Bautista kinda...
  4. The way I gasped when [redacted] showed up like he was an old friend I hadn't seen in 20 years. 
  5. I'm very tired of style over substance!!!!
