Studio Ghibli never fails to create a visually stunning film with a unique, almost dream-like, storyline. Princess Mononoke is no exception. It has a strong underlying theme showing the destructive nature of humans to not only each-other but also the world we inhabit, which is true to life currently. Also who doesn’t love a strong female protagonist?

War isn’t my favourite film genre by a long shot but this film was absolutely amazing. I was captivated the entire time and rooting for every single character. Although he only had about 5 minutes of on screen time, Tom Hardy’s role as Farrier was incredible. I actually clapped and cried when he shot down the final bomber plane and then landed on the beach of Dunkirk. Obviously it’s a war film so there isn’t a true happy ending but I still loved this film despite that.
