The Holy Mountain 1973
What a surreal and captivating experience through the journey of the christlike fool on the path to enlightenment. It is an explosion of nonstop intense imagery and vulgarity that prevents you from looking away for a second. Its commentary on the collective evilness of war, consumerism, and society was amazing. Its extremity in every aspect of the film along with its underlying meanings makes the viewer introspectively analyze our own desires as humans. I loved the occult and alchemic symbolism throughout the pilgrimage on top of the vivid colorations and cinematic decisionmaking.
