Lost in Translation 2003
Arguably the greatest portrayal of loneliness and human connection I have ever seen.
My introduction to Sofia Coppola.
Lost in Translation is a melancholic yet deeply moving exploration of two lost souls finding solace in each other. Its subtle directing creates a feeling that is unlike any other film I have ever seen. Even though I greatly appreciated how beautiful and engaging this movie truly was, I didn’t acquire the personal connection most people got. Nonetheless, An extreme pleasure to watch. Murray and Johansson absolutely killed their performances.

Why can’t David Fincher just direct every biopic, or movie for that matter.

My introduction to Baker.
Wow! I must say I truly am comfortable with the immense of praise this movie's been receiving, especially from the Oscars! So incredibly re-watchable with outstanding characters. Mark and Mikey were beautiful and flawless casting choices by Baker.
Edit: Idk why I was so happy this sht lowkey overated.

Challengers 2024
Visually stunning.
An amazing portrayal of complex relationships supported by, in this case, tennis. Honestly loved this more than I thought as my first impression of this film was just a 2 hour thirty minute f*ck fest. (To be honest, it still kinda was.) Nonetheless, I never really felt uninterested in the plot and the directing was absolutely stunning. Beautifully captured shots expressed the usual mixture of adrenaline and interest. AND THE SCORE. Oscars slept on this hard.
