  depicts sex work and the aids crisis without explaining why these conditions existed in Asia in the first place (western imperialism)

  nostalgia for the mainland (and communism) without truly engaging with it

  unsurprisingly anti-Black depictions of America (it's not creative enough to believe anything beyond white supremacy)
