  Dev Patel pulls inspiration from all the above for his directorial debut. Yes, the storytelling could have been tighter, but I had a good time from start to end, so all the weeds aren’t worth getting into.

  Is this the best Harry Potter movie?

  It’s definitely the most stylish. I can’t help but imagine a franchise directed entirely by Alfonso Cuarón. 

  The visual language created by Cuarón is far darker than Columbus’ first two entries and far more textured than Yates’ vision that follows this.

  I also can’t help but imagine a world where other visually imaginative directors took the helm of each film in the franchise. A Guillermo Del Toro directed Goblet of Fire or a Tim Burton directed Half Blood Prince would be so cool!!
