Greyhound 2020
The Naval battle sequences are great, but everything else about Greyhound is utterly forgettable. It's like they simply decided to speed run though all the scenes where we are supposed to learning about the characters. Greyhound would have been better with 20-30 more minutes of runtime dedicated towards character development.
This movies only saving grace is the super realistic battle scenes.

The Damned 2024
The setting, the historical backdrop, the overt religious themes, it's all there. I should have loved this movie. The Damned could be great but it falls just short with its ending. It fizzles out right at its climax. The ending felt rushed and left too many unanswered questions.
I spent half the movie wondering what a Basque boat was doing in Icelandic waters and we never even get a sliver of an answer.

Threads 1984
I'm convinced that this is one of those movies that film snobs have to will themselves into liking for the sake of "the message" instead of actually enjoying it.
This is just depressing and it's not even particularly well made. Just because it's "moving" doesn't mean it's good.

Along his journey John sings catchy folk songs, meets up with a witch, and fights…
