Surprised how much I loved this, been putting it off for a while. I think I was worried about how the Native American aspects would be handled
Works both as a journey to death and a tale of American original sin. Jarmusch's most Lynchian film. Nice balance of silly and serious. Gorgeous images while still willing to take visual risks. I love how it leans into nostalgic homage (the gun fights are all ridiculous) without being gratuitous. The "movie" aspects feel like a deliberate choice to reach for a more spiritual beauty/sense of reality, as they should in any good hollywood flick. Good shit
