Uncut Gems is such an anxiety-inducing film. It had my heart racing for the ENTIRE movie, which is more than a lot of films can say. Like with Good Time (2017), the Safdie brothers have masterfully crafted a thriller not quite like any other, with stakes so high they need FAA permits. Uncut Gems as a film is claustrophobic, overwhelming, and intense, in just the perfect manner to underscore the story it’s telling.
