    One of Marty's many masterpieces. This and Raging Bull together are an incredible argument for Bobby De Niro being a Top 10 actor of all time. Very prescient with it's ideas of hustle culture, joyless/sexless human relationships, and fame. Unfortunately, I get very bad second-hand embarrassment, so half of the scenes in this are torturous for me to endure. The scenes where he refuses to leave the front desk receptionist make me want to rip my face off. Good movie.

    these movies should be up my alley seeing as they are pastiches of 70s/80s genre films that I adore, but they end up feeling like homework. So so boring, and completely uninspired. Ti West does not have the juice. Let the record reflect I like Mia Goth, though.
