This is why I don’t take showers

The cast and the acting was the best part — Timmy was truly transformative.
I appreciated the focus on a particular moment in Dylan’s life, but felt his development was unsubstantiated outside of just calling him an asshole — why he resented those that made him, why he couldn’t sing folk at the one folk concert.
The music was good, I think I would’ve appreciated the whole film more if I was better acquainted with the discography.
FUCKKKK I wanted to dislike this SO BADLY as a fuck you to everyone that hasn’t been to the theaters since Barbie.
But fuck, this one makes you FEEL. Really appreciated the hair and costume work, and Cynthia and Ari blend vocally in a way I thought only the Opportunes could.
But Act II (of Act I) dragged, and a lot of characters and arcs felt undeveloped despite a whopping 2 hr 40 min runtime. Also I was struggling with…
The one where Margaret Qualley plays an expert phlebotomist, carpenter, and WWE superstar.
I'm sorry, I can't understand how any of my usually spot-on Letterboxd friends gave this more than 2.5 stars. Sure I liked the use of color and playfulness of the film, but the plot had gaping holes, the score was ridiculous, the foley was ridiculous, and they tried to make up for the disappointing shallowness of MQ's character with gratuitous erotica and gore porn.
American Beauty meet Requiem for a Dream but in a way that leaves a ton on the table with this fever dream of a movie.
Best Alien movie, fake fans won’t get it. Only took 9 tries to get it right.
It is so bad. The CGI, dialogue, inconsistent accents, random launching into Latin or prose, ridiculous shot selection…truly painful to sit through. It was like FFC took way too much shrooms, I’m happy he lost 100M dollars on this.
That said, I actually did enjoy the premise and the cast, some of the sets are beautiful. I’d watch this if you’re the type of person that likes to slow down on the highway and stare at a car on fire after an accident.
Phenomenally fitting choice for #200.
Big things coming, try to keep up.
I get why Art was laughing the whole time — this movie is lowkey so fucking funny.
Appreciated the world building and lore development from the OG, although it bordered on too much exposition/unsubstantiated plot lines.
It made up for it with incredibly clever kills and super fun gore. And I always love a good Krueger nod.
Better than the first one! A rare feat.
