Terrifier 3 2024
Gore can only take you so far. The first was a novelty of horror, extra fuckin blood and guts to cover up the mostly cheap aesthetic. Second one develops the story and characters, develops the scares, ultimately being the best of the 3, the right balance between clear cheap schlock and somewhere you can connect with the characters, at least on a level of “oh they prob will die but maybe not hopefully?”

I mean how do you even improve on the first one but doing this exact thing. The first was more personal, characters and setting were more contained owing to the main character being a random person, a nurse, which worked incredibly well and added to the sense of her being completely trapped and alone with her grief.

I have a theory which I would like to share. Regardless of what u think of Hollywood and its writers, I think it’s apparent that there seems to be more piles of shit now a days flooding theaters than there used it be (or maybe that’s just the nostalgia talking).
