    A weird and wonderful film. To me, it was very much ‘The Favourite’ meets ‘Hugo’ meets ‘Moulin Rouge’ in a very steampunk, technicolour way. I wasn’t surprised to find out it was from the director of ‘The Favourite’ at all due to the absurd camera panning.

    Honestly a really crazy film. The cast is great and Anya Taylor-Joy is one of my favourite actresses, she steals the screen in every role she plays. 

    It really defined what it means to be a thriller in a very eccentric way. The theatrical feel ran alongside the theatrical storyline quite cohesively, and I genuinely didn’t know what was going to happen next.     An interesting film with some quite unexpected twists and turns. The acting by the leads was great as per usual for Emily Blunt. The direction was quite.. unique in some places with the shaky camerawork and the confusing time jumps - it could’ve worked in chronological order (obviously excluding the plot twist) but all in all I enjoyed this film for what it was.
