  Like much of Bong's work, I need to sit on this one for a while. I think perhaps the tone shifts were a bit too extreme for the emotional moments to hit as hard as they should have, and the pacing certainly felt off, but I can't deny how entertaining it was. Certainly not his best. Perhaps one of his worst. But damn, what a high fucking bar it is if this interesting, funny, thoughtful film is on the lower end of his filmography.

  Also Mark Ruffalo was absolutely fantastic. It's been a big couple years for him getting to ham it up with funny voices.
