Swingers 1996
Been on my list for some time. I admittedly may be swayed by Favreau’s story of completely paving his own path, but I was really impressed with how natural all the dialogue between friends was. Arguably the most realistic dialogue I’ve heard between a group of delinquent guys on film. Overall, there was a lot of fluff and not a significant climax, but that was kind of the point. A good slice of life movie. Also, unreal numbers: made for $200,000 and made 23x in the box office.

I knew nothing about this picture prior to sitting in the theater. I was pleasantly surprised by the apolitical narrative from the perspective of a journalist. A unique viewpoint I was not anticipating.
An overall enjoyable watch. The sound design really stood out on this film, especially when viewed in theaters.
My main critique is that the ending was extremely cheesy out of nowhere. Prior to this scene everything was plausible, but the very end just pulled me out of the world they worked so hard to create. Also the font they used sucked.
