Call me old fashioned but I don’t think anyone should get away with making a film that seems to be mostly about the legacy of art and artists under capitalism, while using AI to take some shortcuts and save some $
But apart from that the film is stunning. The final twist that Lázló’s project was in secret essentially an elaborate reconstruction of the concentration camp where he was imprisoned- its silhouette emerging from a combination of intersecting christian crosses…
Walks the line between satire and tragedy so finely! You may not know whether to laugh or cry. Every character in this is so loveably pathetic
I’ve seen this only twice now but I find the soundtrack and cinematography so surreal and strangely nostalgic
And after the rewatch the underlying questions shine through-
Does free will exist? What is fate? What is luck?
