I love the bleak, victorian/medieval atmosphere of the film, from the architecture and buildings, to the costumes, props, accents and old english dialect. Robert Eggers clearly did not cut any corners in immersing the film’s viewers in this grotesque, fearful, and just shocking film. I came into this movie expecting to be disappointed based on how it was received by everyone.
