One Day 2011
Would have probably liked this better if I had not seen the Netflix series first, which simply offers so much more depth to the story.
The plot twist works better in the movie though. As the series offered more depth throughout the ‘years’, the plot twist became unecessary, and even somewhat superficial.
I do think that the Netflix series did not try to make the actors seem like they aged, whereas the movie at least tried.

The Brutalist 2024
This feels like what cinema is supposed to be, especially when you watch it with good friends in the brutalistst Barbican in London.
Thanks to an organic flow of the plot, the movie did not feel too long, despite being 3,5 hours, which is an accomplishment in itself. The acting is great and I particularly enjoyed the performances of Felicity Jones and Guy Pearce. I will not likely rewatch this movie though as it did not move me enough to warrant a rewatch.
