I enjoyed this film for its depiction of New York City as a hostile environment. The narrative weaves through this depiction of the city as a space that facilitates a “follow the crowd”. This mentality is undoubtably contested by our protagonist as something to firstly overcome, and through to the end the viewership comes to terms with the “crowd” mentality being unavoidable and the city stands as a site for compromising one’s “American Dream”.

this movie has my heart and soul, I love Jim Carrey and his transformative acting style that creates memorable and likeable characters <3
Jim Carrey adapts to the role of his characters and this film is no exception, I adore his erratic energy that he emulates as his character begins to discover that his surroundings aren't as they seem.
The film has no issues with pacing, the tension and action subsequently ramping up as Truman begins to doubt the world…
