This mini-series is a combo of famously macabre short stories of Poe, at times the debauchery teeters towards gratuitous and maybe not for the faint-hearted, but is intentionally designed to be devious and a more contemporary retelling.
The series follows on from Flanagans reworking of stories from the gothic period, with The Haunting of Bly Manor (Turn of the screw) and The Haunting of Hill House (book of same name), and does not quite live up to their mastery
