    Ah this film isn’t perfect: there’s lots of very hammy, Kenneth Branagh lines, and some questionable accent work from Dame Judi — but it’s lovely. And the scene where Jamie Dornan and his wife dance to Everlasting Love, is just so romantic and a real movie moment. Very few films have memorable lines or moments these days and this film, flawed though it is has both. It’s beautiful visually, I think the black and white was a really good choice.…

    Really quite beautiful but I found some of the voiceover writing a bit glib sadly. It’s a slow study of a woman going through something awful which at times I found a bit difficult to engage with but I think that might be me. Liked it but didn’t love it! But wow Orkney is beautiful. 

    Also they cut all the lines of my wonderful voice teacher!
