The House That Jack Built 2018
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
It was interesting to see how easily Jack got away with these murders. From the naive women he killed to the "great rain", then to the aloof cop that Jacqueline asks for help and Jack literally confesses he's a serial killer to. The cop shrugs it off as just a drunk couple fighting. Everyone seems to be unwittingly helping Jack evade capture or just plain oblivious. At times it does feel a little too convenient. The level of Jack's narcissism…

The Holdovers 2023
I love how honest The Holdovers is in its portrayal of the human condition. We see ourselves in these characters and the choices they make or we know someone just like them. One of the things I found beautiful and really appreciated was how each character; dealing with their own respective losses, were given an opportunity to experience pure bliss.
The Holdovers is heartwarming, poignant, funny, & insightful. It has something to say and rather than bang it over your head, it’s presented as a gift for you to unravel, behold, and delight in the unpredictability of it - life and all its calamities & misfortunes.
