The Lego Movie 2014
did not expect this to be one of the most underrated philosophical and anti-capitalist works i’ve ever watched. it’s considered a legitimate interpretation of Plato’s the Cave and the entire movie is about breaking free from the worker mold that’s controlled by an all-knowing corporation. perhaps a bit more dramatic than the current situation but a pretty obvious metaphor nonetheless. also the characters slap and emmett/wyldstyle’s romance is totally a satire take of the “manic-pixie-dream girl dumps her emo hot bf for the average joe (LITERALLY your average joe) who’s supposed to be special” trope.
