  the first time I watched totoro, I had no idea what I had just experienced. it felt incomplete, with no purpose. cute, but I didn't "get" why it was such a beloved film.

  a couple years later, i gave it a second try and it somehow clicked. maybe it was the pandemic, i don't know. I just get it now. can't explain why, just feel the atmosphere and the happiness like a hug.
